Somewhere around 1990 I did this design project for a product that would sit on a nightstand. The original renderings were generated manually with acrylic paint. This is a much more recent recreation of that original design, done so many years ago.

This line art was rendered directly in Modo in about 1 minute. No hand work of any kind was done. Multiple views can be quickly generated in this way at any resolution for single color print work such as technical illustration in manuals.

I did this 3D model / illustration just for the fun of it. The cup form allows for great shading variations which intermittently blend and contrast with the background. The canvas effect was applied in post-production with a Photoshop filter.

This is a model of a spoon from my parent's silverware set. I must have eaten a thousand bowls of Cap'n Crunch with this very spoon.

This was a very quick model to show a prospective client what was possible with 3D design.

Used in an article about the new definition of the word "page" as it transitioned from the Gutenberg Press to the World Wide Web.

I drew a little alpha PNG and used it to make this displacement map with a little tan diffuse color and zero reflection... be-cause... sometimes you need a cardboard fish?

Just a quick model to post for Pi Day (March 14th.) The background and lighting were created with HDR Light Studio in MODO 801.

Sculpted in 3D-Coat (in virtual clay) the materials included worn edges and scratched clear coat on glossy, oil spattered paint.
